As the owner of the beloved Soulyve Restaurant from 2009 to 2019, Chef Phil DeWar has evolved from a restaurateur into a multifaceted chef, embracing a variety of roles with passion and creativity.
Chef Phil DeWar has been a caterer and restauranteur for the better part of the past 15 years. He opened Soulyve Caribbean Kitchen 10 years ago after running his catering company for four years prior. In that time, he drove the restaurant to heights previously unimaginable for ethnic food in Orangeville and the Dufferin County area. With the expansion of Soulyve from 30 seats to over 100 seats, the restaurant welcomed thousands of guests each year as a destination restaurant.
Since Soulyve‘s return from a destination restaurant to a catering enterprise in 2018, DeWar has continued to soar in the food industry in multiple avenues while staying active in his community.
Additionally, Chef DeWar became the official food partner of GoodLot Farm & Farmstead Brewing Co and the culinary creator of the GoodSpot food truck, which offers a fresh, vibrant CaribFusion menu.
